What does your soul really crave or need deep down?
It needs the satisfaction that can only truly be fulfilled
by the Maker and Keeper of your soul.
You will show me the path of life: in your presence is
fullness of joy; at your right hand there are pleasures
for evermore (Psalm 16:11). For it is God which works
in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure
(Philippians 2:13). You are worthy, O Lord, to receive
glory and honor and power: for You have created all
things, and for your pleasure they are and were
created (Revelation 4:11).
Being content with what you have, taking care of it,
enjoying it, and sharing it with others, I believe,
demonstrates a form of divine satisfaction.
Are you truly satisfied? God's kind of pleasure won't
leave you empty or with a bitter aftertaste. The mere
pleasures of this physical life only leave you sad,
unfulfilled, and lost.
Lord, please reveal to us what truly pleases You and
what will bring us lasting and abundant peace, joy,
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness;
and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips
(Psalm 63:5). Oh that we would so live this here and
and now with eternity in mind. May we hear our Lord
tell us that we were good and faithful. And then we can
enter into His joy for evermore.
